Child Sexual Abuse Prosecution: Beyond A - Z

This training is brought to you through a joint effort of the Children’s Law Center and the South Carolina Commission on Prosecution Coordination.

This training is primarily for prosecutors and DSS attorneys who are presenting sexual abuse allegations in court, however, the Children's Law Center is allowing other child abuse professionals to attend.

Overview: This training is primarily for prosecutors and DSS attorneys who will be litigating sexual abuse allegations in family court and/or general sessions court. Topics will include: case law update, preparing the child victim for courtroom testimony, how to conduct a direct examination of a child victim, use of facility dogs in child advocacy centers, the use of child sexual abuse dynamics expert testimony at trial, psychosexual evaluations and vicarious trauma.

Who should attend? Prosecutors and SCDSS attorneys.

Law enforcement, victim advocates, DSS case workers, and forensic interviewers are welcome.

Continuing Education Credits: This training is expected to be approved by the SCCJA and the Commission on CLE (including 1 hour of SAMH credit) .
