Our Plan

The development of our 2026-2028 strategic plan commenced in the fall of 2025 with comprehensive surveys and interviews involving member Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) and key stakeholders. Following the survey phase, the SCNCAC Board of Directors convened for a two-day strategic planning session to assess the feedback and construct a roadmap for both our organization and the Children’s Advocacy Center movement in South Carolina over the next three years. Collectively, we identified four strategic priority areas that will steer the growth and advancement of our organization, enhancing the Children’s Advocacy Center’s response to child abuse in South Carolina.

Our Four Strategic Plan Priorities

  1. Legislative Advocacy & Awareness
SCNCAC is recognized by public and private stakeholders as a leading authority on the response to child abuse and the CAC model. In addition, SCNCAC educates stakeholders, policymakers, and communities about CACs and advocates for their essential role in the statewide response to child abuse in South Carolina.
  2. Statewide Partnerships
SCNCAC collaborates with statewide partners and education consultants to advance our mission of empowering South Carolina communities and CACs to deliver a best-practice response to child abuse. Through these partnerships, SCNCAC works to expand awareness and adoption of the CAC model statewide.
  3. Children’s Advocacy Center Services
SCNCAC serves as a comprehensive resource for identifying, promoting, and providing relevant, affordable, and accessible program assistance, training opportunities, and other services for all member CACs. Through continuous quality improvement initiatives, SCNCAC supports evidence-based standards, facilitates performance evaluations, and supports data-driven decision making to ensure vulnerable children and families receive the highest quality of care.
  4. Organizational Capacity
SCNCAC provides the organizational capacity and funding to deliver customized support to member CACs, enabling their growth and the implementation of effective CAC models in communities throughout South Carolina.

The strategic plan is active until December 31, 2028. To facilitate ongoing monitoring and reporting of progress, SCNCAC staff have developed a comprehensive strategic plan dashboard. This tool is reviewed by the SCNCAC Board of Directors at every board meeting to ensure continuous advancement toward all goals and objectives outlined in the plan.
