SCNCAC Releases Minimal Facts Interview Video

The South Carolina Child Abuse Response Protocol Act helps to ensure that all children in South Carolina have access to an evidence based and best practice response to child abuse to help provide healing and restore hope during the most difficult time in their young lives. This legislation requires that in the investigation of a known or suspected crime against a child, a multidisciplinary team must follow the Protocol as developed by the SC Children’s Justice Act Task Force and the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers. Often times in an initial response to child abuse, it is necessary for a Law Enforcement or Department of Social Services First Responder to gather basic information from a non-offending adult or child.  The SCNCAC first responder minimal facts interview cards help investigators to meet protocol requirements for these initial investigations. SCNCAC has released a new information video on the minimal facts interview cards, which are included in the statewide child abuse response protocol, and how they should be used. After watching the video, more information can be obtained by visiting the SCNCAC Protocol Page by using the link below.
