Child Advocacy Center of Aiken County | Part-Time, Contract (1099)
The Contract Grant Writer supports the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken County by researching funding opportunities and developing high-quality grant proposals, reports, and related documents that sustain and expand services for children and families affected by abuse and trauma. This role collaborates closely with the Executive Director and key staff to translate program goals, data, and budgets into compelling, accurate, and compliant submissions to private, corporate, state, and federal funders.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the Center’s mission, programs, and strategic priorities.
- Draft, edit, and submit letters of intent, grant applications, proposals, and renewal requests according to funder guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and program staff to gather program narratives, data, budgets, and outcome measures.
- Develop clear objectives, outcome frameworks, and basic evaluation plans for proposed projects.
- Prepare grant budgets and budget justifications in coordination with the Executive Director and finance staff.
- Maintain a detailed grants calendar of deadlines for proposals, renewals, and required reports.
- Draft interim and final grant reports, ensuring timely submission and alignment with award conditions.
- Track submitted and awarded grants, including amounts, terms, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure all written materials meet quality, accuracy, and compliance standards, including adherence to confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
- Assist with occasional donor communications or impact summaries related to grant-funded projects, as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Three years of successful grant writing experience for nonprofit organizations; experience in child advocacy, social services, or healthcare preferred.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of nonprofit funding, basic budgeting, and financial narratives.
- Excellent written communication and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive narratives.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with outcome measurement, data collection, and reporting expectations of public and private funders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and common online grant submission platforms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client information, internal data, and funder communications.
Working Conditions:

- Regular communication via email, phone, and virtual meetings
- Occasional in-person meetings at the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken County for planning or review
- Schedule flexibility may be required during peak grant cycles
- Work involves sensitive subject matter related to child abuse and family trauma
- Contractor must handle sensitive material with professionalism and care
Compensation & Schedule:

- Compensation: $35.00 per hour
- Schedule: Flexible, as assigned by contract (estimated 10–20 hours per week, may vary by funding cycle)
- Preferred Start Date: Immediate
- Location: Remote, with periodic virtual or in-person meetings in Aiken County, South Carolina
- Reports To: Executive Director
