The opening of this facility marks a renewed dedication to supporting child abuse victims and their families. With an emphasis on a child-centered approach, The CARE House has expanded access to essential services, many of which were previously unavailable in the local community.

The Manning facility will provide a range of CAC services to child abuse victims in Clarendon county:

In a news article posted by Manning LIVE, Meg Temple, Executive Director of CARE House, was quoted as stating, “Children can’t help what has been done to them, and someone has to step up to help them move forward. This center ensures that children have hope for the future, no matter their past experiences.”

TRAININGS & EVENTS

Initial Victim Service Provider Training

From March 5th-7th, the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC) hosted its first Initial Victim Service Provider training of the year. The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including 16 advocates from South Carolina’s Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) and multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), as well as 9 advocates from North Carolina CACs.

Throughout the training, attendees participated in 24 hours of specialized instruction, designed to meet both the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) and South Carolina Victim Service Provider standards.

This in-depth training plays a vital role in equipping advocates with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively support and serve victims. The curriculum was thoughtfully developed to ensure participants gained valuable insights and practical skills, aligned with both national guidelines and local needs.

As we continue to strengthen our mission of supporting victims and enhancing service delivery, events like this one are crucial in promoting professional growth and fostering collaboration between states.

We extend our gratitude to all those who participated and contributed to the success of this training. We eagerly anticipate continuing our work to improve and expand the support systems for those we serve.
