CAC of Aiken County seeks Executive Director
Executive Director
Children’s Advocacy Center of Aiken County | Full-Time
The Executive Director oversees the daily operations of the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), including all aspects of service provision, fiscal management, human resources, marketing, fundraising and development, and organizational compliance.
The Executive Director advocates for the CAC’s mission, representing the program within the community while providing direct supervision to staff and volunteers.
They ensure that the CAC and the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) uphold the principles of the CAC model, aligning policies and practices with the 9 Standards for Accreditation established by the National Children’s Alliance (NCA).
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in administration, public policy, human services, or a related field preferred; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience considered.
- Experience: Minimum of six years of relevant experience, including at least four years in a supervisory role.
- Background Requirements: Ability to pass a criminal background check and Central Registry check.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation, valid car insurance, and willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision of staff and volunteers:

- Develops job descriptions and organizational structure
- Hires and terminates staff (subject to Executive Committee approval)
- Evaluates staff performance
- Oversees staff and volunteer training
- Reviews and proposes revisions to Human Resource policies and procedures
Fiscal Management:

- Oversees and manages agency budget
- Oversees billing processes
- Oversees agency audits
- Oversees granting agency financial reports and requirements
Coordinates with Board of Directors:

- Develops Board meeting agendas
- Reports to Board on administrative and programmatic issues
Program Management:

- Oversees and manages client services
- Develops policies, procedures and protocols for MDT and agency programs
- Oversees client, service and outcome tracking systems
Development of Financial Resources:

- Writes or assists in writing applications to Federal, State and other funding sources
- Prepares or oversees preparation of grant applications
- Prepares or oversees preparation of literature for funding appeals and campaigns
- Coordinates with fundraisers
External Relations:

- Develops materials to represent the agency to the community
- Represents the agency in relations with:
- National Children’s Alliance
- SC Network of CAC’s and other centers
- Partner agencies
- Community organizations
- The media
- Funding sources
- City and County Councils and state legislators
Performance Standards:

- Adheres to professional ethics and standards including confidentiality requirements
- Represents the agency to clients, the Board, partner agencies, and the community in a professional manner
- Demonstrates ability to problem-solve effectively
- Demonstrates a commitment to the concept and practice of cultural competency, and participates in cultural competency training
- Participates in continuing education
- Ensures that the rights of children and parents are protected.
