Clinical Supervisor

CARE House of the Pee Dee | Full-Time

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and clinical supervision for the CARE House clinical team, including Forensic Interviewers and Therapists. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed services while promoting professional development, accountability, and compliance with licensing, credentialing, accreditation, and funding requirements.

Primary responsibilities include providing individual and group clinical and administrative supervision, conducting annual performance evaluations and goal setting, facilitating monthly team meetings, monitoring clinical quality and productivity, participating as a member of the leadership team, and supporting program development.

The Clinical Supervisor also maintains a clinical caseload of therapy clients providing evidenced-based therapy.  Along with therapy, The Clinical Supervisor conducts forensic interviews of children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults.

Qualifications

Required

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
    • Current South Carolina independent clinical licensure (LISW-CP, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of independent clinical licensure.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to build rapport and be non-judgmental with children and families.
    • Demonstrate cultural competency and trauma-informed practice.
    • Comfortable working in an office with a facility dog (Canine Companion on-site at Florence office)

Preferred

  • Completion of recognized forensic interviewing training (e.g., ChildFirst® South Carolina or equivalent).
  • Experience conducting forensic interviews within a Child Advocacy Center.
  • Formal training and demonstrated competency in evidence-based trauma treatments such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Problematic Sexual Behavior CBT (PSB-CBT) or other evidence-based models.
  • Approved clinical supervisor credential (or eligibility to obtain within a designated timeframe) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team responding to child abuse.
  • Knowledge of child development, trauma, crisis intervention, child maltreatment, and the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage scheduling and coordinate forensic interviews of alleged child/adolescent abuse victims with multidisciplinary team members, as needed.
  2. Conduct forensic interviews of alleged child/adolescent abuse at the request of referring agencies and advocacy as needed.
  3. Interface with staff of partnering agencies in order to assist with implementation of the CAC project and coordinate services.
  4. Maintain accurate case records, case lists, and statistical data in a timely manner.
  5. Contribute to execution and reporting on grants.
  6. Provide evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.
  7. Participate in case reviews with multidisciplinary team.
  8. Attend conferences, seminars, meetings, for the purpose of continuing education on the topic of abuse and victim services to maintain proper training credentials.
  9. Attend and testify in legal proceedings as necessary.
  10. Stay current on best practices and emerging trends in trauma treatment, forensic interviewing, and child abuse response.
  11. Adhere to the ethical standards of related field.
  12. Maintain all related therapy documentation.
  13. Schedule and coordinate monthly group and individual clinical staff meetings.
  14. Ensure all clinical staff maintain required licensure, certifications, and credentialing.
  15. Support clinicians in obtaining and maintaining licensure, certifications, and credentialing requirements.
  16. Attend leadership team meetings and other meetings related to function of organization.
  17. Monitor clinician caseloads, billing procedures, productivity, and clinical time.
  18. Provide training and education to multidisciplinary team members, community partners, referral sources, and clinicians, as needed.
  19. Other duties as assigned.
  20. Provide services at CARE House main site or other locations as needed.
